Develop leadership internally

Our business development and commercial leader Tatiana Aragon broadly shares about “Current Leadership” and the types of leadership that we observe in companies and how this leads to influencing the internal environment of companies.

To lead refers to the art of influencing others in such a manner that, within organizations, teams find guidance, support, and encouragement to assertively optimize roles. Today, the role of the leader is vital for dynamism, high competence, constant changes, and even more important, to keep and retain human talent.

A good leader follows a learning process during which, with practice and through the course of time, it develops and evolves. With good leadership people will be positively influenced thus causing a return over investment (ROI). Therefore, companies require leaders, not only the figure of a chief, to be able to strengthen teams. At the corporate level, leaders are those persons who know how to direct their teams to create a positive response. This shows that leaders effectively direct their teams and provide the needed support to achieve the expected results.

It is important to mention that the role of a leader is a figure that is not necessarily in the highest level of the organization. The good news is that it is possible to be a leader from any level of the company. This will be reflected on teams without the need of a label because leading is generating influence and trust. There are other supplementary factors to optimize leadership such as communication, empathy, active listening, and disposition that, without a doubt, prevail in the actions of the verb to lead.

All of a sudden we meet with our daily work teams and expect someone to lead the way or propose a solution and take control to represent the others before a specific circumstance. This person, regardless of its job position, generates influence and trust on others and therefore has a leadership role.

How can organizations develop leaders? o be a good leader a person must be passionate for what it does, that is principle number one. This passion will be naturally reflected on the team when that person is able to influence others.

What part does the organization play? In the culture of the company, investing in keeping a healthy organization culture causes an environment of trust and opens the possibility of identifying possible leaders and providing support to them during their process and professional evolution. However, the leader goes through a development process and when situations arise allowing more involvement trains them in their formation.

To organizations: let’s pay attention and identify those leaders and potential leaders to support them in their process and professional evolution to jointly create a return on investment within our teams. Let’s invest in the best talent to achieve strategic objectives.
